Nissan z gets new engine tuning package by nismo in japan
Nismo is offering a new performance-enhancing package for all Nissan Z owners in Japan.
They call it the “Nismo Sports Resetting Type 2” tuning package, and it’s supposed to help the Z reach new heights in horsepower, torque, and acceleration.
The new package operates solely through a dedicated Engine Control Module without any hardware updates, and the increased power output is achievable thanks to an alteration of the boost pressure and the ignition timing.
“Zs” with automatic gearboxes and “sports” mode will also benefit from an increased acceleration rate, even on low and medium revs.
Nissan didn’t publish the exact performance figures that should be expected from the new performance package. But as a reference, the original 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged VR30DDTT V6 setup of the Fairlady Z makes 400 hp (298 kW / 405 PS) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque.

At the moment, this is the only special performance package for the latest RZ34 generation of the Nissan Z. Knowing Nismo, this will certainly change in the near future, but it’s still a long way from all the diverse upgrade options available on previous generations. Upcoming upgrades will presumably include new adjustable coilovers, anti-roll bars, larger brakes, a new intercooler, a cold air intake, an exhaust system, and a flywheel kit.
Nismo charges ¥143,000 ($1,044) for the new “Nismo Sports Resetting Type 2”, this price covers installation and inspection. The package is now available for Nissan Fairlady Z owners in Nismo Omori Factory and Nismo Performance Center in Yokohama.
