For the 2022 model year, Porsche consolidated the Macan lineup, phasing out the Macan Turbo in favor of an upgraded GTS version of the car. But for 2023, Porsche is expanding the Macan lineup again, introducing a new Macan T that will slot between the base model and the Macan S. The Macan T will come with a standard performance equipment package that aims to provide drivers with a sharper driving experience.

This Porsche will be powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four found in the base model, good for 261 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and is 129 pounds lighter than the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 found in the current S and GTS models. As with all Macans, the Macan T will be all-wheel-drive.

The new Porsche Macan T will be a sporty SUV with a focus on driver enjoyment. It will come standard with the Sport Chrono package, adding a driving-mode switch and launch control to the Macan's repertoire of performance-oriented features. The Macan's all-wheel-drive system has been tweaked for more rear-biased power delivery, and models equipped with the optional air suspension also get stiffer anti-roll bars.
