2024 RAM Dakota Release Date Price Specs
Dodge Dakota enthusiasts remain loyal to the discontinued model, making it a prime candidate for reintroduction, consequently, Stellantis and Ram plan to revive the Dakota nameplate with a midsize pickup truck planned for introduction in 2024. The new Ram Dakota is likely to be based on the Jeep Gladiator pickup and may borrow design elements from the Ram 700.
The next-generation Ram Dakota will likely be available for purchase in late 2023. It will be sold at Ram dealerships throughout the United States, and also in a few other markets.
Although information about the price and trim levels for the new Dakota was not yet available, industry publication Car and Driver estimated that the vehicle would have a starting cost of $26,000.
According to Car and Driver, the 2024 Ram Dakota will share some mechanical components with the Ram 1500 full-size pickup truck but will be based mostly on the Jeep Gladiator midsize truck.
Ram Dakota owners will most likely have to be satisfied with the 3.6-liter V-6 engine that's in many Stellantis models, rather than the V-8 engines in other Ram models. The truck will probably be paired with Ram's eight-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesel may also be an option, producing 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
The new Dakota will be available with either a rear-wheel drive or a four-wheel-drive system. Also, expect to see an off-road Rebel trim with off-road tires, skid plates, and suspension tuned for rugged terrain.

The exterior of the Ram Dakota for the model year 2024 is expected to be similar in design to the Ram 700, however, the grille and front headlights will resemble those of the Ram 1500.
It is also expected that the Dakota will have a similar interior to the Ram 1500. However, it will likely lack some features found in the larger vehicle. We will have to wait until the truck makes its debut or until Stellantis and Ram release teaser images or videos of the pickup.
