LanciaFirst look lancia officially back

The Lancia revival is happening now! CEO Luca Napolitano announced that Lancia will start designing and manufacturing on a large scale again, focusing on the European premium market.

The official announcement goes as follows: “Today is the beginning of our Renaissance that will amaze Lancia fans all over the world. Lancia will once again be a desirable, respected, and reliable brand in the European premium market. Today is the beginning of the new Lancia!”

So now after years of focussing exclusively on the good old Ypsilon, Lancia is turning its sight to the electric car market, with renewed vigor and energy.

Under the new umbrella of Stellantis, Lancia will have much more liberty to create and experiment with new technologies and new designs. But first, to symbolize this shift in identity, the brand got itself a shiny new logo. According to Lancia, it was inspired by its own 1957 emblem. The new distinctive badge should be able to express the brand’s “innovation, premiumness and Italian-ness with a touch of eclecticism, given by the asymmetrical lance”.

After taking care of the logo, the company should get down to real business. The official schedule includes a new Ypsilon, a new Delta, and a secret new model that will be revealed at some point between 2024 and 2028.

But what about that spaceship?

Don’t get too excited, Lancia is not visiting space any time soon. The strangely shaped car-like sculpture we see here is a new concept revealed by the company, they call it the Pu+Ra Zero, and it’s supposed to represent Lancia’s future design language. According to the company, the general shape is said to represent the words “pure” and “radical” with a touch of inspiration from iconic Lancia models, namely the Aurelia, the Flaminia, the Stratos, and the Delta.

If the Italian carmaker follows through with this design, it will certainly deliver some groundbreaking cars in the near future.

Some details of this design will appear on Lancia models sooner than you may think, the Stratos-style round rear lights for example will be adopted by the upcoming Ypsilon model. We can’t wait to discover what the new Lancia has in store for us.
