Other new features include a standard new larger driver info screen

General Motors has announced a long list of new updates for the upcoming 2024 version of the Chevrolet Colorado. Seemingly, the carmaker had a lot of new ideas after last year’s launch. So, if you are planning on buying a new Chevrolet Colorado, you better check the General Motors Fleet Order Guide first.

What are the major updates on the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado?

Don’t be mistaken, unlike other minor year-on-year updates we’re used to seeing; General Motors is changing stuff under the hood as well. The massive 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine is now named TurboMax. This Screamer is capable of pumping 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft.

For the 2024 lineup, GM decided to make the TurboMax engine optional on the WT and LT trims, and standard for the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2. On the other hand, they got rid of the tamer version, the 310 horsepower, 390 pound-feet Turbo Plus engine, which was standard on the Z71 and Trail Boss.

What Are The Interior Updates On The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado?

Maybe this would be a lot more interesting than any engine update for some drivers. The entire 2024 Colorado lineup will have the 11-inch driver information display as standard. So bid farewell to the old 8.0-inch screen. Other updates touch on the WT Convenience Package; from now on, it will include a floor console, a detail that was missing from the work truck trim.

New equipment on the dashboard raises the problem of standard dashboard covers lacking the proper design and cutouts, what you need in this situation is a custom dash cover with proper design and cutouts, made specifically for your car model and make.

On the safety front, the Advanced Trailering Package now comes with standard Blind Zone Steering Assist. It will be available on the WT, LT, Trail Boss, and Z71. Clearly, the new Chevrolet Colorado is now well-equipped to keep you safe. You should return the favor with some protective custom-made truck cab covers, designed to protect your truck cab from the harsh elements and all the aggressive off-road conditions.

Back on the outside, for the Black color lovers, GM dropped a new Dark Essentials Package, coming with a black Chevy logo for the WT, LT, and Z71 versions. The LT will also benefit from a Front Fender Decal Package, along with the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 versions.

On the ground level, ZR2 is now equipped with 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels decorated with a Tech Bronze ring. ZR2 is also the subject of one of the few mysteries of this new order guide. GM mentioned that it designed a new optional Recovery Package for the ZR2 Bison Edition but unfortunately with no other details.

Other optional accessories include various packages like the Off-Road Lighting Package, Sports Bar Package, and Hood Decal Package, as well as the Kicker stereo, black tailgate lettering, and black assist steps.

What are the features of the 2024 ZR2 Bison?

It’s worth mentioning that the ZR2 Bison was revealed earlier, and now it’s joining the flock as a 2024 model.  The truck runs on a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder, good for 10 horsepower and 430 lb-ft. However, it comes with only one transmission option; an eight-speed automatic coupled with a two-speed transfer case. It has a four-wheel drive mode and a Baja Mode with launch control.

It doesn’t end with the driving modes, the truck is filled with performance electronics, including Multimatic front and rear jounce control dampers, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and power-locking front and rear differentials.

And if we’re not already overwhelmed by this rather long features list, let’s just dump the rest here: American Expedition Vehicles equipped the ZR2 Bison with a winch-capable heavy-duty front bumper, a new rear bumper, fender flares, and a spare wheel carrier mounted right on the truck bed.

The truck's under body is protected by five boron-steel skid plates, and it rolls on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels with 35-inch tires.

Pricing is still a mystery, but with orders starting soon and delivery date approaching, GM can’t keep it a secret for long.
