A new major step towards the promotion of electric vehicles in America was announced recently, in a new ambitious program joining BWM with Electrify America. 

The new partnership offers BMW costumers two years of free complimentary 30-minutes charging sessions in all electrify America charging stations. In other words, starting march 2022, if you have a BMW EV, you can charge it at any electrify America station for 30 minutes without paying a cent. 

The launch date was note arbitrary, as it coincides with the introduction of new BMW electric models, such as the iX xDrive50, BMW i4 eDrive40, and BMW i4 M50.

This new tempting offer plays on the economical side of the EV technology and hopes to give it a solid edge over the traditional combustion engine cars especially with the ever-rising gas prices, this move would hopefully speed up the transition towards the electric cars. 

Joining efforts with EA makes sense for BMW as it expects electric vehicles sales to increase by 20% every year between 2025 and 2030, and that they would make 50% of the entire car’s market before the mid-century, so preparing the adequate infrastructure is the most logical thing to do now. 

to achieve that, Electrify America is the most suitable partner in a project like this one, with 800 EV charging stations across the nation, Electrify America runs it the largest network around, and it has the highest charging speed capability with 150 KW to 350 kw.
