BMW i7 Electric Car 300 Miles Range Polarizing Design

The German carmaker is so excited and confident about the i7 EV to the point that the European market will receive only the fully electric version. While other world markets like China and the US will have three options to choose from; the Electric, petrol, and the 48V mild hybrid. A fourth option, represented by the plug-in hybrid version will be available by 2023.

BMW has equipped the i7 with its most advanced electric technology, putting it shoulder to shoulder with other high-performing competitors. The powertrain is composed of a large 101.7 kWh battery pack, powering two electric motors with a combined capacity of 400 kW/544 horsepower. This setup allows the car to go for about 310 miles on a single charge.

Interior luxuries were not rationed either, giving the car top-of-the-line sedan statues. The i7 is packed with the latest of what the car technology has to offer. So, in the brand’s own words, drivers will enjoy.

“The BMW Theatre Screen, the multi-sensory vehicle experience BMW iDrive with the latest generation of BMW Operating System 8, plus the BMW Curved Display and the Maneuver Assistant for automated parking and maneuvering, highlight the progressive character of the luxury sedan. In addition to the enhanced level of comfort and the unique in-car entertainment system, the Executive Lounge option for the rear with optimized reclining seat position and new BMW Individual Merino leather/cashmere wool interior trim takes a pioneering route to maximize wellbeing inside the car.”

BMW seems unable to abandon the split grill although in a slightly modified shape, even if doesn’t serve any functional purpose on EVs, this design choice reinforces the traditional style of the i7 under which all the new technologies are hiding. Maybe the most distinctive new feature is the new split narrow headlights, giving the car its own distinct personality.

The launch date is set for November 2022. However, we still have no information about the car’s price, all of you potential buyers and BMW lovers should wait a little bit longer.
