AutomobiliAutomobili Estrema

Automobili Estrema (Extreme Automobiles) is an Italian company founded in 2020 by entrepreneur Gianfranco Pizzuto, and they recently unveiled their Fulminea electric hypercar. Estrema Fulminea (Extreme Lightning) is the new wonder made in Italy, specifically in Modena and Turin, ready to enter the world of hypercars like a bolt of lightning.

The goal of Automobili Estrema, a careful observatory of the world of the electric world as well as a forerunner of innovative technologies, is to make Fulminea the fastest technological laboratory on wheels in the world. The new hypercar - produced in Modena, in the Motor Valley - will hit the international market in the second half of 2023. A commercial launch is expected in the third quarter of 2023

The Design

The DesignAutomobili Estrema

Fulminea stands out for its unique and decisive character; the silhouette is extremely aerodynamic, streamlined, and muscular. The surface, soft and fluid, refers to the classic cars of the sixties and combines perfectly with the carbon fiber finishes that give it a more angular and aggressive appearance typical of modern racing cars.

In the front, the wedge profile pushes towards the ground and grows towards the fenders, forming a soft drop shape; the rear breaks off in a sharp way, combining empty and full spaces with great visual effects. Great attention has been given to proportions and volumes, calibrating with maximum precision the arrangement of the mass along the entire structure of the car.

The side view is dominated by lines and volumes that meet from the front fender to the rear one, crossing in an X in the center of the structure, thus taking up the shape of the lightning bolt, a distinctive sign of the House. The dimensions are 4,683mm in length,  2,052 mm in width and a height of 1,148 mm.

Fulminea stands out for its sporty and feminine nature: the front fenders widen, then narrow backwards along the passenger compartment, to return to widen again on the rear fenders, in a game of perfectly alternating shapes, reminiscent of the elegant, curvy and attractive hourglass silhouette of a woman or stringed instrument.

The fastest creatures on the planet inspired the lightness of the volumes; the profile of the peregrine falcon for its long and thin tail; the silhouette of the running cheetah, not only for the power of its rear muscles but also for the width of the rib cage, the hollow of the hips, the long legs, the sinuosity of the tail in movement and in a perfect balance due to the forked and thin shape of the tail and the slenderness of its vertical fins, and finally, the iconic shark fin taken in the center of the back.

The interior design has been studied in such a way as to favor maximum aerodynamics by allowing the flow of air to flow along the entire profile of the car. The “butterfly” doors are characterized by a wide opening angle that facilitates access and by the arrow-shaped air vent. It also comes with Pirelli tires and OZ Racing rims.

The Power

PowerAutomobili Estrema

Fulminea is full of new things, and it will be the first car in the world to use an innovative "hybrid" battery pack that combines Li-ion cells with solid-state electrolyte and ultra-capacitors, reaching 100 kWh of energy to power the 4 electric motors with a total power of 1.5 MW ( 2,040 hp).

Research, cutting-edge technology, bold and functional solutions, and extreme customization are the key points that characterize the work carried out by the Automobili Estrema team, whose mission is to create a new Italian car brand to compete in the world of electric supercars and hypercars.

Fulminea will be equipped with a battery pack produced by ABEE (Avesta Battery Energy Engineering) and ultracapacitors, elements that allow the boost of energy necessary to make the most of the power of the 4 electric motors.

The battery pack is designed and produced in collaboration with IMECAR Electronics. The power is distributed to the wheels by 4 electric motors that allow the Fulminea to accelerate from 0 to 200mph in less than 10 seconds!

The battery pack has a capacity of 100 kWh with an expected range - according to the WLTP cycle - of 325 miles. Thanks to the use of solid-state cells with a prismatic shape, the hybrid battery can make use of the "cell to pack" technology, reaching a record energy density of 500 Wh / kg, which is equivalent to 1.2 kWh / l, with a weight of battery of only 660 lbs and a total curb weight of 3300 lbs.

Furthermore, thanks to the collaboration with Electra Vehicle, the BMS (Battery Management System) is supported by a software called " EVE-Ai", which constantly and actively optimizes the power demand between the two energy systems to maximize the efficiency and performance of the car by customizing the control strategy based on the operating environment, battery conditions and driving style.

How to Protect Your Estrema Fulminea

More than 1,500 kW strong, at least 320 km/h fast and with a breathtaking acceleration of less than ten seconds for the sprint from 0 to, no, not 100, but 320 km/h wants Gianfranco Pizzuto, CEO of the Italian hypercar manufacturer Automobili Estrema , set new standards for electrically powered super sports cars with its Fulminea.

It is not clear when we can get our hands on this car in USA but it will come one day. When it does, you are going to need some protective equipment to protect your Hyper EV!

For all your protection equipment needs, we recommend Coverking. They are the best in the business and always know what they are doing. The company digitally scans each and every vehicle available on the market with the latest technology. That makes them able to create the best custom-fitting equipment possible.

Coverking is also the official protective equipment partner with most manufacturers. Check out their catalog and find out what they can do for you and your vehicle.
