Mazda has made some changes to the CX-9 lineup that builds on the fact that it's now a more mainstream offering.

Following the brand's recent model redesign, we've got details on the only notable change coming to the Mazda CX-9 for 2023. The sports base trim of last year's model year has been dropped and a new trim, called Touring will take its place.

In response to increased volume and growing demand for the ultimate crossover SUV, Mazda is bolstering the standard equipment on the all-new CX-9 Touring. Standard features include second-row captain's chairs with integrated air vents, a sunroof, LED fog lights and black- or sand-colored leather seats.

At $42,775, the Touring Plus trim level of the Mazda CX-9 offers a number of features that make it a very attractive choice for customers who want a large SUV with lots of luxury features. One of the biggest upgrades comes from adding an additional seat to the second row making the total seven seats, which is only available on this trim level.

Mazda provides three premium paint options for the CX-9, the Soul Red Crystal Metallic which is a beautiful shade of red that shines like a star in the night sky. The Machine Gray Metallic is another excellent choice for those who want an understated look for their vehicles, both cost $595.

Finally, at $395, we have Snowflake White Pearl Mica which is a beautiful shade of white with hints of mica throughout its body.

The automaker has confirmed that the 2023 CX-9 will continue to be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine and that the six-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ AWD system will remain unchanged.
