Polestar will host a special launch event to unveil the Polestar 3 electric SUV.

The Polestar 3 has been something of a secret project, with the company’s CEO Thomas Ingenlath only cracking some of the privacy closed until recently. That will change on October 12, when the company opens up the next chapter of its history.

The hotly-anticipated Polestar 3 is set to take market by storm. The new model will maximize performance while maintaining its elegant and subtle exterior. In terms of powertrain, Polestar 3 will have the same platform that will power the next-generation Volvo XC90.

The car also will feature the latest technology to create a coddling, yet exciting driving experience for drivers. The SUV’s dual-chamber air suspension and active dampers will produce a smooth ride, while its Sport mode offers even more dynamic handling and chassis control.

You can expect to see the compact midsize SUV powered by a rear-biased dual-motor powertrain with electric torque vectoring on the rear electric motor. The firm is aiming to have one of the world’s most powerful electric cars, the new SUV that will boast an upgraded battery pack and a power output of up to 510 bhp (380 kilowatts) and 671 pound-feet of torque when equipped with the optional Performance Pack.

“It’s this instant ability to transform from a comfortable cruiser to a sharp, agile performance car in less than the blink of an eye that makes Polestar 3 special as an electric performance SUV,” Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath stated. “It also benefits from a low centre of gravity and wide track for ultimate stability, and an exciting feeling behind the wheel.”

The Polestar 3 is going to be more than just a sportscar, it’s going to be a whole new way of driving. We expect to see the first examples early next year, and it will be produced in the United States and China.
