The new 20242024 bmw x2 drops the hatchback like design and looks like a proper crossover coupe

The new 2024 BMW X2 was spotted recently, revealing a completely new design style that shows even from under the camouflage.

Contrary to what was initially believed, these photos show the new 2024 BMW X2 and not the next-generation X4. Admittedly, it’s hard to distinguish the two under camouflage, but by looking closely we can see several features of the 2023 X1 present here, like the wheelbase and the distance between the front door and the wheel arches, which definitely indicate that this is indeed a redesigned X2.

The confusion stems from two main reasons. First, is the fact that BMW’s busy schedule currently includes the new X4 as well, a model that is widely anticipated, so understandably, many observers jumped on the first camouflaged vehicle to appear before them. The second reason is largely due to the radical design differences between the X2 and its predecessor; the former as you see looks like a conventional crossover, while the latter was more like a glorified hatchback.

The current X2 design looks like a combination of various body types, a design that made it a controversial car and not a very popular one. Now BMW is trying to correct that and give its car a proper distinct personality, mainly by going on a single clear design language, which is that of a crossover. The design is built around several main details like the prominent grill, and sweptback headlights, combined with a sizable front overhang and a rakish windshield that transforms seamlessly into a sloping roof. The car also features an increased height, flush-mounted door handles, and an angular rear window that directs air to a prominent spoiler.

Sadly we don’t know much about what’s going on inside the car, observers suggest that this model will carry a lot of the X1 interior design, including the Curved Display that consists of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment system. Some ambitious predictions also talk about incorporating more advanced technological features, like Augmented Reality navigation, an Intelligent Personal Assistant, and a Remote Theft Recorder that can catch criminals on video. Or even Digital Key Plus technology, which allows the drivers to open their cars using their phones without even taking their phones out.

Predictions are also all we have when it comes to engine specs; the model will likely be an AWD, running on a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine, making 241 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

You can see how carmakers can drastically change their design from one model to another; this will surely make you realize how a car cover can never be a one-size-fits-all product.

That’s why Coverking is - and was always making custom-made car covers, every single product is accurately designed to fit a specific car model. This ensures complete protection against all kinds of dangers that a car has to face on a daily basis. With Coverking, harsh weather, dust, spills, wear and tear are all a thing of the past. You can now ride your car confidently and worry about other things instead.
