2024 maserati granturismo preview
Maserati is launching the GranTurismo, a coupe version of the MC20, taking design cues and engine from it.
Maserati's MC20 made a lot of noise since its debut, as it rejuvenated the brand’s image, shedding new light on what it's like to drive a Maserati sports car. Now, as the initial excitement is dying out, the brand is working on a more conventional model, suitable for long-distance travel and everyday use. The GranTurismo represents the coupe version of the MC20, taking from it a lot of design details and the powerful V6 engine as well.
Maserati made sure to emphasize how this new car is the reflection of some iconic first-generation Maserati models, made right after World War II, Especially the A6 1500 of 1947, introducing it as the direct ancestor of the new GranTurismo. That statement is backed by the styling of the new GranTurismo, a long hood with elegant curvy sheet metal, all typical of the original A6.

Another exciting detail about the GranTurismo lies under the hood. The new model will run on the same3.0-liter V6 we find in the MC20, offering 621-hp. But that’s not all, the brand promised an electric version called the Folgore, equipped with three motors, the car will have an impressive 1200 hp.
The new GranTurismo is currently doing its last testing rounds, and observers expect that it will have its grand debut in 2024. This model may be the last of Maserati ICEs, as the brand is expected to transform itself into a fully electric brand by 2030.
