Spy Shots '23 Ford Super Duty XL Dually Caught Testing in Dearborn
Testing of the 2023 Ford Super Duty XL Dually is well underway, in preparation for the imminent production start.
The truck was caught recently cruising around in Dearborn, this sounds like routine as the Super Duty XL has already done that before, but the difference this time is that we could see the entirety of its front end.
From what we see, we can immediately say that Ford Super Duty has all the features of an XL model; black plastic mirrors, fog lights, XL base rims, and base headlights are all here. However, we can also see that Ford has done a lot of design updates, including a new hood, fenders, grille, lower front clip, and headlights all incorporated into the new grill design.
In the back, however, Ford didn’t deem it necessary to make big changes; the only new element is LED tail lamps.
Ford hasn’t yet confirmed the engine characteristics, but the truck will most likely have three options, 6.2L V8, 7.3L V8, and the 6.7L V8 Turbo Diesel, all of them coupled with the TorqShift 10-speed automatic transmission. The 6.7L V8 Turbo Diesel will naturally have slightly more power than the other two options.

The production of the 23’ Ford Super Duty XL Dually will be entrusted to the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, just like the previous model. The official debut will happen sometime this fall.
