Acura unveils electrified arx06 race car
Acura has introduced us to the new Acura ARX-06 prototype its latest electric race car.
The company has disclosed some official images and details as preparation for the car’s introduction into the Rolex 24 at Daytona next January.
Acura gave all the necessary details to impress the audience; the new ARX-06 will run on an electrified hybrid power unit featuring a twin-turbocharged 2.4 liter V6 internal combustion engine. The powertrain engineering is credited to Honda Performance Development, Acura’s Motorsports arm in North America.
The outer shell, however, was designed by the company around an all-new ORECA LMDh chassis, with Acura-specific bodywork and aerodynamics.
Jon Ikeda, vice president, and Acura brand officer had a few words to say about their latest creation: "Precision Crafted Performance is at the heart of everything Acura does," he added: "If you're a performance brand, you have to go racing. It's that simple. Both the existing ARX-05 prototype and our production-based NSX GT3 have proven to be race- and championship-winning designs on tracks all across North America. Now, with the introduction of the new, electrified Acura ARX-06, we look forward to facing off against other premium automotive brands from around the world – and continuing our winning ways."
As Jon Ikeda said Precise craftsmanship is the basis for every successful engineering company, Coverking realized that since day one, that’s why it has adopted an advanced 3D scanning technology to design and manufacture custom-made car covers that would fit on your car like a glove, taking into account, every curve, line and small detail.
This design greatly boosts the cover’s efficiency and protective abilities, keeping all the vulnerable elements in your car safe from outside dangers, no matter what that is.
