Bentley Promises Brutal Acceleration in New EV

Is there a limit to cars’ acceleration? Every new supercar tries to break the record. But the new Bentley EV is going beyond that, reaching the 60-mph mark in a dizzying 1.5 seconds.

Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark has recently disclosed some incredible numbers about the company’s upcoming EV supercar, the new Bentley will pack 1.400 horses under its hood. To go from 0 to 60mph in mere 1.5 seconds.

As you may know, the current record is hovering around the 2 seconds mark, Bentley’s intent on adopting rocket speeds for its car will make that a thing of the past.

An often-overlooked aspect of this race toward extreme speeds is the impact on drivers. Reaching certain limits will be uncomfortable for Bentley’s customers or any other drivers for that matter.

To put that into perspective, Hallmark made the comparison with the current Bentley Continental GT which has 650 horsepower. He said:” Bentley EV will double that. And The problem is, it's uncomfortable”. “The thrill of 2.4 seconds to 60 mph is great about 10 times. Then it just becomes nauseous.” He added.

To remedy this problem Bentley decided to give every driver the choice to keep the conventional 2.7 seconds acceleration or switch to the mind bugling 1.5 seconds. Putting full responsibility on the driver for any expected side effects.

Hallmark also made the point that insane acceleration is not the only trait of the new EV, he suggests that the focus should be directed to the more positive aspect of the easiness of overtaking other vehicles, thanks to the generous amount of torque.

If you want to test your acceleration resistance abilities you should probably start saving some money. The Bentley EV is expected to go into production sometime in 2025. And it will cost around 250.000 Euros, that’s about $264.000 at current exchange rates.

With high stress on your body when driving at such high speeds you certainly need some extremely comfortable seats! The easiest way to do that is by getting some custom-made seat covers from Coverking!

3D scanning technology ensures that our covers will fit perfectly, so you can forget about constant slipping, adjusting, and dust gathering under the cover.
