Brabus is still going with its Mercedes tuning operations, the subject of their latest surgical intervention was the Mercedes-Maybach S580, or as it’s called now, The Brabus 600.
The main lines of this makeover can be summarized in a carbon-fiber body kit, a turquoise cabin, and a more powerful V8. Starting with the exterior, carbon fiber now covers the bumper intake surrounds, the prominent splitter, and the diffuser trim. The bright and chromed outlines are now made from a darker chrome finish. The wheels too didn’t escape Brabus's artistic hands, the Maybach S580 rides now on a new set of Shadow Gray 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock M “Platinum Edition” forged wheels. And as a finishing touch, Brabus proudly slapped the Barbus Masterpiece badges on the front fenders and the D-pillars.
As a stark contrast to the gloomy exterior, the interior is of a bright Turquoise Blue color, coming from the leather upholstery covering most surfaces all around the cabin. A closer look at the leather reveals the trademark Brabus “Seashell Diamond” quilting and black piping. Breaking the minty interior is the dark carbon fiber center tunnel, dashboard, and door inserts. The expected luxurious interior environment is maintained by a combination of ventilated and heated independent rear seats, a fully digital cockpit, and fancy ambient lighting.
Brabus gives the mercedes maybach s580 a minty makeover
As we all know, Brabus’ work never ends at the visual design phase, the tuning company is used to working its tools under the hood too. For this special Mercedes-Maybach S580, Brabus installed new software that boosted the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine power to 591 hp (441 kW / 600 PS) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, a noticeable increase from the original 496 hp (370 kW / 503 PS) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Transmission is done through a nine-speed automatic. This power increase allows the car to reach 62 mph in 4.5 seconds, 0.3 seconds quicker than the original.
Brabus didn’t say anything about the Brabus 600 price, but knowing Brabus, you should be putting aside a large sum to get the minty-colored luxury limousine.
