Bugatti Chiron Production Reaches 400 Units
Production of the Bugatti Chiron supercar is advancing steadily; the French company has just finished the assembly of the 400th unit.
It’s an absolute delight to discover every new finished unit of the Bugatti Chiron. Every model of the supercar is custom-made according to the client's specific preferences, meaning that every time we discover a new face of the iconic Chiron. But, at the same time, the whisper in the back of our minds is getting louder and louder; “with each new model, we’re getting closer to the end of the 500-strong production run, and the retirement of the Chiron.”
The meticulous customized manufacturing and assembly process explains the long production time, this fresh dark green Bugatti spent two months in the production plant, between the hands of 20 highly skilled engineers, mechanics, and craftsmen. This dream team put together 1,800 separate components to deliver us yet another masterpiece.

The 400th Chiron is a dark green finished supercar, made according to its owner's wishes. Bugatti explained that one of the hardest parts of the production process is the creation of a custom-finished body; the carbon fiber body elements all have to flow in the correct direction, which means that each panel has to be cut separately in a particular manner, and that requires “patience and meticulous attention to detail”.
We can safely say that the color choice for the Chiron was successful. The dark green hue mated perfectly with the magnesium wheels, and the slightly different shades of green on the hood and other smaller details gave the car an interesting but still subtle contrast.
The interior also gives a similar impression of harmony and elegance, the cabin is finished with a combination of black and green leather, with several bare carbon elements that match the black leather color perfectly.

Bugatti placed a familiar beast under the hood, this Chiron runs on a Bugatti 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine, good for 1,600 horsepower in this particular setup, 100 hp higher than the original Chiron from 2016. Power flows to the wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, giving the car a dizzying acceleration from 0 to 186 miles per hour in just 12.1 seconds, with an insane top speed of 273 mph.
Sadly, Bugatti will only make another 100 Chirons before retirement; however, the W16 engine will live on inside the bowels of the Mistral roadster and the track-only Bolide.[i]
