Explore "100 Years of Ford" in the New Ford Auto History Vault

In celebration of its 119th anniversary, Ford is launching the “100 Years of Ford” Vault.

The blue oval was officially born back in 1903, now after 119 years of hard work, we get the chance to sit back and take a look at all that was achieved. In order to do that, Ford has set up a special museum-like online exhibition, featuring a large collection of historical assets detailing its products and marketing efforts.

The Vault as it’s called was originally created 70 years ago, to preserve photos and product brochures for Ford and Lincoln models. Now, all that is going online, including all available material, gathered from 1903 until the early 2000s.

The beautiful thing is that the vault is entirely free and easily accessible for anybody from the wide public to journalists and historians. The high-resolution pictures reveal a lot about the cars’ design and functionality. Even the older ones will take you decades back to another era of automotive history.

The Vault is not a finished Job, Ted Ryan, Ford archive and heritage brand manager calls it a “first step”, the company will always be adding new content, enriching the experience even more.

Ciera Casteel, the processing archivist for Ford, also described the effort that was put to make the digital vault a reality, saying “the vault was born analog, and we have worked hard to bring them to the digital world.”

Initial data shows that the most searched items on the Vault are the Bronco and F-Series, along with some other iconic models like the Meteor, Fairlane, Galaxie, Model A, and Edsel.
