Electric Lotus Eletre R Promises 905 HP

Automakers have an uncanny knack for discovering new powertrains that seem to be just another evolution in this category of car. But in reality, the unseen changes are what actually make a difference. The new Lotus Eletre R has received a version of this treatment and its results are rather impressive – 905 horsepower RS3-style!
The Lotus Eletre R is a high performance car built for speed and handling. It is designed to be the perfect mix of driver appeal and performance-oriented handling, with an air of luxury influence that makes it a great machine for everyday use as well.

Lotus’ R is designed to deliver an even more breathtaking experience than the standard car; it is a fully-loaded marvel with a spur of the moment rating of four tires for its combined street and drag strip performance. It features a two speed transmission that allows you to choose between Sports or Touring modes depending on your mood or driving conditions. With two motors and two transmissions, the Eletre will be offered in three trims – Eletre, Eletre S, and the Eletre R. The R will unleash 905 hp, 726 lb-ft of torque, and 0-60 times in an astonishing 2.95 seconds. However, the standard dual-motor Eletre and the Eletre S will both serve up 603 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque.

Inside, the vehicle is fitted with an operating system that promises to revolutionize the way passengers interact with their cars. A cutting-edge operating system, called Hyper OS, will be used. This technology will run the digital cockpit utilizing gaming technology and real-time 3D content, courtesy of two Qualcomm 8155 System-On-Chips.
"The enhanced specification includes numerous additional features such as privacy glass, active rear spoiler, configurable ambient lighting, illuminated side sills, soft door close, auto-dimming side mirrors, and an air quality system,"Lotus clarifies
It's no surprise that this limited-run supercar gets attention, like many exotic machines, there's secrecy around its performance numbers because they're so impressive. The 905-hp Eletre R will command €150,990 in Europe, but US pricing hasn't been announced yet. Expect something in line with that amount.[1]
