Ford Ready to Electrify 2023 Ranger Pickup
A new promising ford truck is coming to the US, high expectations are placed on the all-new Ford ranger especially with all the available electrification possibilities. Although we already have confirmation that the ranger will be a hybrid, there is also the possibility that it will Follow the same path as the F-150 lightning and become a full electric truck, without taking anything from its power, as Ford already announced that it will produce around 362 horsepower.
Ian Foston, the chief engineer for the Ranger, laid out to the press all the possibilities that the new truck has in front of it. He said: "We can't confirm where we are heading, but we are looking at all the technology we are deploying at Ford [that could be applied to the Ranger]," he further explained that the available technology allows them to choose from a 24-volt mild hybrid to an all-electric version. Especially with the T6 platform that has the capability to be fully electric.
However, Ford is determined to take a democratic approach with the ranger, they are currently assessing the market and making extensive research with their loyal customers. The final decision will be taken based on the result of the customer studies.
Outside the US, ford has already announced that customers will have three engine choices that include a smaller turbocharged 2.0-liter and a bigger 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel capable of producing more than 250 horsepower.
In the US however, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder engine will be the most likely choice. While waiting to see if we will ever see a full electric Ranger.
