In a recent tweet, Ford included a graphic that showed the shift pattern for a manual transmission. Twitter users quickly noticed that the graphic for the forthcoming S650 Mustang showed the same shift pattern.

This indicates that the next-generation Mustang will offer a manual transmission, as evidenced by the company tweet.

Ford has been rumored for years to be working on a new Mustang. With the imminent launch of an all-electric version, some doubt that it will include an internal combustion engine in its 7th generation. What is certain is that the S650 will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission.

Furthermore, Ford Blue President Kumar Galhotra recently commented on the S650's manufacturing in Michigan, "Our frontline manufacturing employees are the key to delivering what our customers want more of…must-have internal combustion-powered vehicles like the forthcoming all-new Mustang coupe."
