Genesis reveals beauty of white space x speedium interior
Hyundai’s luxury sub-brand, Genesis, reveals the interior design of its latest concept car, the X Speedium Coupe EV, calling it “beauty of the white space”
Genesis calls the new interior design “beauty of the white space” reflecting all the simplicity and elegance of the traditional Korean style.
The ease with which Hyundai and Genesis are working on their EV projects reflects their mastery and skill in Electric technology. The success is also reflected in their sales numbers, where Hyundai has sold an impressive 73,000 EVs so far this year—significantly growing their market share.
The next objective will be to enter the growing North American EV market with force, taking advantage of the rapidly surging demand and the new EV tax credits. The best way to do that is to build cars right here on US soil. Hyundai is already working on that, however, Genesis will be a bit late to the party, launching its first American-made EV model in 2025.
The other big goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035, to do that Genesis is planning eight new EV models before the deadline, in addition to reaching 400,000 units in annual sales.

American customers got acquainted with Genesis Luxury EVs back in May, with the introduction of the GV60, an all-electric crossover, although the sales of this first model were very limited and constrained to some dealerships in California, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
The next step will be launching the GV70 luxury performance SUV which will be the first American-made Hyundai/Genesis EV model, precisely manufactured at the new Alabama manufacturing plant.
Meanwhile, the main Genesis project is the X Speedium Coupe concept, the exterior design was revealed back in April. Since then the company kept building up the suspense, choosing to reveal the interior design at this year’s Monterey Car Week.
The interior is dominated by the typical characteristic of Korean traditional architecture, with its minimalistic elements and colors. Another imposing feature is the floating central console that extends and wraps around the driver’s cockpit, combining both the dashboard and central console with all the controls in one place.
The seats are of a pine grove green color, contrasted with the Monterey gold all around the cabin, Genesis said that the gold color was inspired by the California sandy beaches
We shouldn’t get our hopes too high; the mass production of the X Speedium Coupe concept is very unlikely, although details and design elements may appear in several future Genesis models. In other words, the concept represents the road map for future luxury all-electric Genesis models.
Hyundai and Genesis look quite healthy in the rapidly changing EV world, promising more and more successes in the future
