the 18-story train depot was built in 1913 and has stood empty since 1988, the date on which the last train has left it, now – after renovation – the building “will be the symbol of our city’s resurgence” said Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. And it will house the main development facility, run by Ford, in which most of the projects will be built and tested.
Google’s main role in this endeavor will be training the skilled labor, through teaching local high school students computer science and putting them through a certification program, Ford will accept these students as employees in its research facility later on.
