The new Hennessey Venom F5Hennessey venom f5 roadster reveal

The new Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster was revealed during the Pebble Beach week, showing a sleek roofless derivation of the coupe version.

However, Hennessey made sure to introduce several interesting design features - besides to roof obviously- to make the F5 Roadster a more unique version, and not only a roofless coupe as one might imagine.

The main course in this car is without doubt the roof. The Venom F5 Roadster looks incredible, regardless if it was installed or not, Hennessey insists that the removable piece is still an integral part of the car even when it’s off. As it comes in a soft travel bag to take with you wherever you go, the insulated top weighs 18 pounds and is made of carbon fiber featuring an Alcantara lining.

Even with the visual noise that the roof is making, we can still notice a good number of interesting design features. The most obvious is the glass engine cover, replacing the simple carbon top and allowing the public to admire the twin-turbo V8  sitting behind the driver. Aerodynamics also participated in shaping this new exterior; as we see vents on both The aluminum panels and carbon fiber surround in addition to the holes in the carbon surround formed, matching the rear heat extractor.

Wheels also are a piece of art, made from forged aluminum and bearing the Hennessey logo on one spoke of every wheel.

It seems like all the work is focused on the body design, leaving the powertrain intact and identical to that of the coupe. The roadster runs on a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V8, capable of producing 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 pound-feet of torque, power is transmitted through a seven-speed automated single-clutch sequential transmission.

No speed numbers were recorded yet, but the carmaker hopes to hit 300 mph top speed and a decent 0 to 60 time.

The sad part is that the Venom F5 Roadster is having a very limited production run with only 30 units. The models will be sold at  $3 million and will be customizable according to the owners’ wishes. Deliveries are scheduled for the end of this year.

Driving a convertible is probably the most exciting driving experience in this world, but just like all good things, it has some downsides. The interior of a convertible is more exposed to environmental elements than any other car, making them more susceptible to wear and tear more quickly.

Coverking knows that. That’s why we’re making high-quality custom-made interior covers, designed specifically for your car model, and designed to protect your seats, dashboard, and floors against all kinds of weather conditions, dust, and pretty much anything you can throw at it! Let Coverking take care of your car and enjoy your ride to the fullest.
