Hertz Will Add 65,000 Polestar 2 EVs To Rental Fleet Over Five Years

As an interesting move, Polestar, the electric performance brand of Volvo Cars, and Hertz, the global leader in car rental, have announced a cooperative relationship to provide up to 65,000 new Polestar 2 all-electric cars to airport rental lots over the next five years.

The partnership with a global pioneer like Hertz will bring the amazing experience of driving an electric car to a wider audience, satisfying a broad variety of our mutual customers' short- and longer-term mobility requirements."
Hertz Will Add 65,000 Polestar 2 EVs To Rental Fleet Over Five Years
Beginning in spring, European customers get their first crack at the new Polestar, with the car hitting North American and Australian markets in late 2022. Hertz has promised to have a combination of Level 2 (AC chargers) and DC fast charging in approximately 65 markets by the end of 2022 and more than 100 markets by the end of 2023.
As it is a new car company trying to get established with only one vehicle in its lineup currently on sale, Polestar is likely to benefit from this multi-year partnership with Hertz. The automotive brand, which had a 300 percent increase in volume last year, is expected to double that number this year. The company expects to produce up to 290,000 vehicles globally by 2025.[1]
