Hyundai ioniq 6 first edition sold out europe in under 24 hours
The first sales run of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 was an outstanding success, the Hyundai EV was entirely sold out in less than a day after pre-sales started on November 9.
Hyundai sold 2,500 units, targeting the main European markets of Germany, the UK, France, Norway, and the Netherlands. Despite the comparatively high price of £54,995 in the UK and €66,400 in Germany (equivalent to 68,500 USD) customers were eager to get their hands on the first examples of the new generation Hyundai EV, depleting the limited stock in less than 24 hours. This limited sales run was an experiment to test the waters and make sure that the Ioniq 6 can compete on the open market. The carmaker promised that the lucky few who could order a car during that brief window will get their cars at some point between March and April 2023. While large-scale sales will follow in the few coming weeks before this year is out.

The speed at which the Ioniq sold out clearly boosted Hyundai’s confidence, Ulrich Mechau, expressed that in a statement;
"This extraordinarily high interest in and demand for IONIQ 6 First Edition underscores Hyundai's leadership in zero-emission mobility. With its aerodynamically sculpted silhouette, long driving range, and interior that elevates the electric mobility experience for customers, IONIQ 6 redefines what a car should be. We are certain that European customers will be immediately drawn to our Electrified Streamliner." said the Vice President of Sales & Service at Hyundai Motor Europe.
The Ioniq 6 featured in this first edition is, as you would expect, the top trim version, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) system, powered by a 77.4-kWh battery.
This means 239 kilowatts (320 horsepower) and 605 Newton-meters (446 pound-feet) of torque, delivered to all food wheels. The 77.4-kWh battery allows for a 323 miles range, complemented by an E-GMP platform's 800-volt charging system that offers 350kW ultra-fast charger compatibility. The battery also benefits from a heating system that prevents loss of power in cold environments.

As for the car’s design, this Ioniq 6 First Edition offers a collection of exclusive design features, most of which are taken from the Hyundai Prophecy EV concept.
On the exterior, Hyundai incorporated several distinctive eye-catching details, like the matte black finish on its 20-inch wheels, glossy black mirror caps and moldings, black aluminum ‘H’ emblems on the front bumper, and rear boot door underline. Customers were also offered four body color choices; Biophilic Blue Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Grey Metallic, and Gravity Gold Matte.
The same dark theme carried over to the interior as well, represented by a black headliner, exclusive leather combination seats featuring Grey Tartan fabric, and dedicated First Edition ECONYL floor mats with Grey Tartan highlights.
