Jeep entered the Paris Motor Show with a new version of the electric Avenger, the new version screams off-road with a set of new interesting rugged driving features.

The honor of revealing this model fell upon the shoulders of Jeep boss Christian Meunier. The first man in Jeep uncovered the modified Avenger 4x4 concept, shedding the light for the first time on all the new off-road-oriented equipment.

The concept comes with a remarkably modified exterior, starting from the bottom; the 4x4 comes with wider fenders and a bigger track than the standard Avenger, along with towing hooks and larger off-road tires.

The front fascia wears thicker armor, However that didn’t interfere with the car’s height; on the contrary, we noticed that this Jeep is 7.87 inches, improving its approach and departure angles to 21 and 34 degrees respectively. Even the breakover angle has risen to 20deg.

Additional accessories include floodlights and a new lightweight, scratchproof roof cargo system, equipped with a brand-new belt system.

Jeep even taught about the scratches that are often associated with off-road driving, so they fitted the car with anti-scratch treatment. It’s highly unlikely that the car will ever go into production, but Jeep says that it will join the 4xe lineup soon.

During the event, Meunier tried to explain the purpose behind building this new concept car: “The Avenger has been designed as a Jeep vehicle from the outset, and the all-electric 4x2 model already offers some of the best-in-class capabilities that identify the Jeep brand,”. He added: “But we couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if we injected the Jeep brand’s four-wheel-drive electrified capabilities into a compact package while retaining the brand’s unique design language, capability, and personality?”

Unlike this concept, Jeep wasn’t so shy about sharing the technical detail of the original Avenger; The 2x4 will be powered by a 54 kWh battery, good for 248 miles of range (WLTP), the number can reach 341 miles if the car was confined to an urban setting. The Avenger is bound to land on UK shores next year.

In the end, Meunier proudly stated that Jeep is on the verge of reaching its goals of complete electrification, especially with a new generation of electric 4x4 models coming soon. “Here in Paris, we've shown that we have a full portfolio of new all-electric, 4x4-capable Jeep models just around the corner, with a clear goal in mind: to become the number one electrified SUV brand in the world as we continue our path towards achieving our mission of zero-emissions freedom,” he said.
