Jeep unveils its 1st electric suvs for north america europe

Jeep is launching its first electric SUV, targeting North American and European markets, as part of Stellantis's plans to become a pure-electric brand by 2030.

Transitioning into an electric brand holds numerous challenges, Stellantis first needs to have a convincing lineup across all of its sub-brands, with reliable models capable of performing better or at least as good as regular ICEs. And that’s exactly what Jeep is promising with its new electric models.

The main offering in Jeep's new electric collection is the Jeep Recon, a four-wheel-drive midsize SUV. The car will be produced here in North America starting in 2024, but no other information has been disclosed yet.

Another impressive model is the new all-electric Wagoneer S midsize luxury SUV, debuting in 2024 as well, the car will be able to go 400 miles (ca. 644 km) on a single charge, and will have 600 horsepower. 0 to 60 mph time is expected to be at 3.5 seconds. The new Wagoneer will also have off-road capabilities. And just like the Recon, the new Wagoneer will be manufactured in an undisclosed North American factory.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Jeep has other plans, the company is planning the launch of the Jeep Avenger compact SUV. A small electric SUV with 250 miles range (ca. 402 km), well suited for the European market, where the demand for the small SUV segment is particularly high. Unlike the US where Jeep Avenger will never come, according to the Jeep executives.

The Jeep Avenger will be officially revealed on October 17 at the Paris Motor Show, while sales will start next year.

Jeep has the ambition to become the leading zero-emission SUV brand in the world. To achieve that, they are planning another four all-electric SUVs before 2025. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are replacing their most iconic models, not yet at least, the Jeep Wrangler will remain the brand’s flagship according to the brand CEO. “The Wrangler is the icon,” he said.
