LamborghiniLamborghini ravietta study looks to classic brutalist design for the future

Professional designer Cesar Olivera went full classic mode on a Lamborghini, and the result is this brutalist design Lamborghini Ravietta that we only wish was real.

Cesar Olivera has a long experience working with a major car manufacturer. But working in the field has its limitations, the real world doesn’t allow Designers to reveal their full potential due to financial and technical reasons. Thankfully, the virtual world is here to save us, and Cesar Olivera is exploiting it in the best way possible.

The designer calls his creation the Lamborghini Ravietta, and it represents how Brutalist Design style can be applied in the supercar industry.  Olivera chose a collection of iconic Lamborghini models to start from. Design cues from models like the Murcielago, the Diablo, and the Countach are all present in the final design. But Olivera reshaped everything to better interpret his view on the Classic Brutalist design.

So, let’s dive in and explore the most interesting details of the Lamborghini Ravietta. At first glance, we can see some familiar features, mainly the Countach’s creases, the Diablo’s front proportions, and the Murcielago’s active air intakes, even the wheel design is reminiscent of older Lambo models.

So, where’s the innovation in all this?

Olivera says that; “The Ravietta is my idea of what a future Lamborghini could look like, a futuristic design that reinterprets Lamborghini DNA in a fresh way combined with modern design cues from recent models like the Sian,”

A closer look will reveal a lot of modern design elements which were freshly incorporated into the latest Italian supercars. This includes the Y-shaped front light, as well as the combined taillight/engine compartment slabs.

The designer's innovative touch resides in the full glass roof, the forward-pointing cameras, and the vertically-stacked exhausts.  Combining all these design details must’ve been exhausting, but the result is surprisingly harmonious, which is a testament to the designer's world-class skill, creativity, and vision.

Olivera also explained the subtle aerodynamic principles applied to the simplified body lines.  “A simple bone line, or crease, on the body side that goes from the front corner to the rear corner of the car, thus creating a structure on the body,”

The gesture also created a visual effect that implies a dynamic sense of motion along the entire car “The simple shape of the vehicle is split in half (top to bottom) in a dynamic manner to create a sense of motion,”

The Ravietta design proves that a supercar doesn’t need a complicated design, a few simplistic well-taught lines can do the trick. We hope that Lamborghini takes notice of this and at least delivers a futuristic concept model that takes after the Ravietta.
