Lucid motors shares new images of gravity suv ahead of early 2023 reservations
Lucid shared more details about the upcoming Gravity SUV, the EV maker shared more photos and new information about production and sale strategy.
This surprise announcement came as a treat, completing the satisfaction we felt after the final and full reveal of the two additional versions of its Air sedan. The newly released pictures will certainly drive up the hype to an all-time high, for what the company describes as the ideal EV.
Most of the announcement was centered around the car’s production; the company announced that Gravity would be produced at the AMP-1 facility. The production plant is scheduled for an upgrade to make room for the new vehicle.
Regarding the car’s design, we still don’t have much, the company says that the design is not yet finalized, they only confirmed that the interior will come in five, six, or even seven-seat configurations.

Lucid is apparently obsessed with connecting Gravity to space. First, they named the reveal ceremony “In the Air and Beyond” and now they released pictures showing the model on the moon’s surface.
Lucid tied Gravity with several attractive adjectives; luxurious, spacious, efficient, and high performing. Not only this, but the EV maker also made an extremely bold promise, Gravity will supposedly offer more range than any other EV currently on the market. Pay attention, they said any EV, not SUV, crossover, or truck.
Lucid team seems very proud of their creation, pointing out that most of the design features used on the Lucid Space Concept successfully made it into production. Lucid’s senior vice president of design Derek Jenkins summed up the car’s worth by saying: “it’s a unicorn with superpowers”
Lucid’s CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson also tried to describe Gravity, but with a lot more words:
“Gravity builds upon everything we have achieved thus far, driving further advancements of our in-house technology to create a luxury performance SUV like none other. Just as Lucid Air redefined the sedan category, so too will Gravity impact the world of luxury SUVs, setting new benchmarks across the board.”
From an objective point of view, Gravity seems to have all that you would look for in an electric car, of course, we still need more details before passing a final judgment, but everything seems promising.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the reservation starts next year to know more about Lucid’s first SUV. Deliveries are scheduled for 2024 in the US and Canada. Information about price, availability, and timing will follow soon.
