Maserati MC20 Cielo Spyder Debut

Maserati is launching the convertible version of the MC20, and it’s calling it the MC20 Cielo.

If it was any other carmaker, a high-performing coupe would have been enough, but not for Maserati, the MC20 got a convertible sister, and it’s called the MC20 Cielo.

Maserati designers made sure that the MC20 original design supports a convertible and a fully electric variant.  While the electrified MC20 is still a matter of speculation, the MC20 Cielo is here with us to be admired.

On the technical aspect, it’s hard to find significant differences between the Cielo and the MC20 coupe. The lightweight body is the same, as well as the Nettuo twin-turbo V6 engine.

the car can reach 62 mph in a mere 3 seconds, and keep going up to nearly 200 mph. all thanks to the 621 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque.

now the main course on the Cielo is the retractable hardtop of course. Installing and retracting the roof can be completed in just 12 seconds, it’s stored right behind the cockpit and even when it’s covering the car, passengers can still enjoy the sky view through an electrochromic glass that allows them to adjust the sunlight that can enter the cabin, allowing for a comfortable drive even during mid-day. The whole system adds 143 pounds to the MC20's weight.

The MC20

The MC20 Cielo is meant to be driven with the roof down, we can see that clearly when we examine the exterior design details, in which the mainlines are more apparent when the hardtop is stored away, especially details like the large buttresses that form up toward the seatbacks.

Maserati didn’t disclose the car’s price yet, but we can speculate that it will be several thousand dollars more expensive than the MC20, priced at $212,000.

Driving a convertible is perhaps the most exciting experience ever for car lovers. But maintaining one is a whole different story, convertible interiors are more exposed to the environment, making them susceptible to tear & wear at a much faster rate, that’s why owning a high-quality interior cover is a must!

Coverking offers you custom-made car covers, made specifically for your car’s make and model, covering all its vulnerable elements, starting from seats, floors, and dashboard (front & rear) in addition to the most robust exterior body covers on the market.
