Docgo Unveils Americas First All Electric Ambulance

Officials say that DocGo Medical vehicle is the first of its kind in the United States. The company behind the ambulance, DocGo, based in New York City, said that the vehicle will be used to transport patients between hospitals within the city as well as urgent care facilities.

With an all-electric vehicle, no emissions will be released, making it great for the environment. It is also a way to ensure cleaner air for all New Yorkers.

Lightning eMotors and Leader Emergency Vehicles teamed up to create this zero-emission vehicle. Utilizing the best of both companies' expertise, they formed a collaboration that promises to not only change the face of emergency vehicle technology but to save countless lives.

The emergency vehicle began with a Ford Transit T350 Type II ambulance chassis, which Lightning eMotors modified to a battery-electric platform. It has a 120-kWh battery pack that allows it to go up to 170 miles per charge and has an electronically controlled top speed of 65 miles per hour.

DocGo, previously Ambulnz, employs around 4,000 health professionals in the United States and offers last-mile mobile medical services.
