Neom McLaren Form Partnership to Develop Electric Motorsport

A new partnership between NEOM and McLaren Racing is born, and the two partners are promising a new era in electric racing by creating the 'NEOM McLaren Electric Racing.

For those who are unfamiliar with the name, NEOM is a region in northwest Saudi Arabia that is expected to host one of the most ambitious and futuristic projects in the world. The Saudi government is currently building a city there, specifically designed to be the hub of extreme technological development and exceptional livability, full of thriving businesses while preserving the environment.

As a first step in the collaboration efforts, McLaren is named a founding partner of OXAGON, a city in NEOM. And will have its own space within OXAGON's Research and Innovation Campus, currently between the hands of international architects, Grimshaw. From this campus, McLaren will have the perfect work environment to develop various projects, mainly concerning clean industries and eco-friendly manufacturing, all in collaboration with NEOM. The main purpose of this dedicated development and collaboration space is to create a shortcut between Labs and markets.

McLaren CEO Zak Brown sounded very excited about the new adventure with NEOM, he expressed that in an official statement;

"We are delighted to welcome NEOM to the McLaren Racing family. This is an incredible way to kick off our entry into Formula E and unify our electric racing series. We are thrilled to introduce NEOM McLaren Electric Racing and to work with NEOM to nurture talent and drive innovation. Working with OXAGON will allow us to make meaningful contributions through our Accelerator program and assist with the development of advanced and clean industries."

The agreement also includes a lot of technology transfers between McLaren and worthy Saudi talent, the company will lend its digital and analytical expertise as a technical partner of OXAGON to create an advanced and clean manufacturing ecosystem. And then as a second step, the top 20 Saudi graduates from the NEOM graduation program will have a chance to work with McLaren Racing at the McLaren Technology Center in the United Kingdom.

The auto industry is built upon technological innovation, without it the whole sector will collapse, and that’s why car makers always put it as a top priority.

Coverking has taken a similar path since its inception back in 1986, by relying on an advanced 3D scanning technology to create high-quality, perfectly fitting custom-made car covers. The technology will take into consideration every line, curve, and small detail in your car, resulting in a cover that would hug your car tightly, preventing dust or any other small particle to get under it, greatly increasing its protective abilities.
