New Details Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Powertrain Design

Chevrolet is hard at work on the much-anticipated, track-ready Corvette ZR1. There aren't a lot of details about the model, or when it will be released, still we might have some insider information about it from "bulletproof sources" according to Muscle Cars & Truck.

Although there has not been any official confirmation from GM, the rumors will not cease until the automaker does its part. The Corvette ZR1 uses a twin-turbocharged version of the 5.5-liter V8 from the Z06. A supercharger is said to boost power to 850 hp, versus 670 hp for the Z06's naturally aspirated V8.

The Corvette ZR1 will have a more aggressive-looking body than the standard Corvette. The front and back fascias of the production model should be restyled, with unique wheels for this model.

According to Muscle Cars & Trucks magazine, the ZR1 will arrive later than previously expected, with a debut in 2025 or '26, rather than 2023.

Chevrolet's recently unveiled Corvette ZR1 will be joined by a hybrid version in the near future, according to reports. The hybrid is rumored to be called the E-Ray due to its use of the standard Corvette LT2 V8 engine with an electric motor driving the front axle. The company is also developing a fully electric version of the Corvette, though there are no concrete details about it yet.
