Porsche Cayenne Coupe Spy Pics

It appears to be that the update work on the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe is nearly done, as new spy shots has caught them roaming around in the latest phases of testing without any camouflage, revealing much of what the automakers has done to give a new boost for the 2017 model.

Each of the two cars has its own distinct features, but what we see on the spy shots suggest that they have undergone the same modification process, which included giving them new front and rear facias; the SUV got a new narrower headlight plus brand new LED taillights. On the cayenne, Porsche has moved the license plate placement a little to match the Cayenne coupe configuration.

Carmakers have recently taken the habit of preserving the same powertrains even after updating the model’s appearance, Porsche is expected to do the same with the two cayennes, but there are strong rumors circulating, and they speculate that Porsche may use their new heavily revised PHEV powertrain, the one that’s expected to be used on the next-gen Panamera. If that turned out to be true, the cayennes will have a better range thanks to the bigger battery pack included in the new powertrain.

Not everything is so obvious on the inside, spy shots have revealed some new features earlier, like the new shift lever, borrowed from the 992-generation 911. In addition to a large imposing display system hanging in front of the dash.

No launch dates are disclosed yet, but it’s reasonable to expect that the cars will be ready by the year’s end, and enter the world market as 2023 models.
