Less than a week before the new year, Carmakers are saying their farewells to 2022 with a unique selection of unconventional vehicles.

#1 2024 Hyundai Kona Debuts Bigger Body

Kona 2024 Hyundai Kona Debuts Bigger Body, Four Trims Coming

The Hyundai Kona, originally unveiled in South Korea in 2017, is now being renewed in the United States. The crossover's new generation will arrive for the 2024 model year and will be available in four variants: EV, hybrid, purely combustion-powered, and N Line.

The designers at Hyundai's Design Center created the new Kona EV and then applied that look to the other versions of the car. The most striking feature is its front light bar that runs along a band above the hood's edge, while its headlights sit below this strip on the outer corners.[i]

#2 2023 Buick Electra E5 Debuts In China

Buick 2023 Buick Electra E5 Debuts In China As Ultium-Based Electric Crossover

Buick's new electric production model, the Electra E5, will be its first fully electric vehicle to come to market. It's also the first model to adopt the revised tri-shield logo.

The vehicle was unveiled at a press conference in China last week. The vehicle is a five-seat midsize crossover with short overhangs and a long wheelbase. It looks fairly similar to the Electra-X concept that first appeared in China last June, but it's also expected to arrive on North American shores as well. At least according to Last week's spy shots of a camouflaged prototype.[ii]

#3 Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato Debuts[iii]

After a long tease, Alfa Romeo and Zagato unveiled the Giulia SWB. As the name implies, this car started out as a sports sedan before it was shortened to create a sleek two-door coupe with no back seats.

The original car was a spicy Quadrifoglio model with a V6. The Italian coachbuilder upgraded it to the GTAm specification, while retaining the six-speed manual gearbox. The front-end styling is a harmonious mix of old and new, taking inspiration from the Alfa Romeo SZ while using the LED headlight design of the 2023 Giulia facelift.

The new 2023 Ram 1500 TRX Havoc Edition debuts this week with a significant price hike, going from $84,555 in the 2022 model year to $106,445. The truck is described as the “quickest, fastest, and most powerful mass-produced truck in the world.”

The truck features a new Baja Yellow color with contrasting decals and black 18-inch beadlock wheels. Inside, it has Prowler Yellow stitching, carbon fiber accents, and a plaque on the center console denoting the truck's special status as a TRX Havoc Edition.[i]

#5 Bertone GB110 Debuts

Bertone Bertone GB110 Debuts With Claimed 1,100 HP, Limited To 33 Units

It's the return of the mighty Bertone.

The famed Italian coachbuilder is making its first foray back on the road with the GB110 hypercar. The production is limited to just 33 units and will see Bertone's first project since it was acquired by its new owners, Mauro, and Jean-Franck Ricci.

Bertone isn't disclosing the GB110's engine, but they claim it makes 1,100 horsepower and 811 pound-feet. And while they're not providing any details on its powertrain, they are confirming that it revs to 8,400 rpm and runs on plastic fuel.

It's a bold move for Bertone to make its return to motorsports in such an unconventional way—but it seems like this is exactly what the company needed after being bought out by new owners.[v]
