Nissan Sakura EV Japan Details

 

The Japanese automaker Nissan released the first official images and details of the latest Kei car in its line, the Nissan Sakura. The name “Sakura” among Japanese people means cherry blossoms.

Since it is a small car, being only 133.7 inches long, the new Nissan Sakura won't be landing on U.S shores any time soon. This model will be only available in Japan.

Powered by a single electric motor that generates 63 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque, The new Sakura is expected to reach speeds of just over 80 mph. According to the Japanese test cycle, the vehicle features a 20.0-kWh battery that allows for a 112-mile range and can also be used as a power source.

With a 15.7-foot turning radius, the Sakura is easy to maneuver in tight spots and parking lots. Nissan has equipped its new model with its ProPilot driver-assistance system, which can help you stay in your lane and maintain speed on the highway.

Inside, there's a 9.0-inch infotainment screen and a 7.0-inch digital gauge display that makes it easy to keep up with your favorite radio stations or make sure everything is running smoothly under the hood.

The new Sakura will go on sale in Japan in 15 different colors. The base price for the car is expected to be less than $14,000.
