GM President Mark Reuss

Production of the cadillac lyqiq has officially started

GM President Mark Reuss, Cadillac's own VP Rory Harvey, and even the governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee was all excited to witness the launch of the all-new Cadillac Lyriq, the brands gateway to the EV world, the ceremony was held in Spring Hill, Tennessee, where the first model rolled off the production line. [i]

The model was announced back in October of last year, after a major investment in the spring hill plant, the upgrade program cost the company a whopping $2 billion, which was spent almost entirely on retooling the factory and making in adequately equipped to handle the complex technologies of the electric era. Apparently, the investment money was well spent as the Lyriq was ready to roll, well ahead of the expected schedule despite the difficult overall production environment, which has witnessed worldwide supply chain disruptions in the last couple of years.

The Spring Hill assembly plant is now ready to produce the new Lyriq in large numbers along with other models such as the upcoming Cadillac Vistiq, as well as the XT5 and XT6 SUVs.

Mark Reuss the head of GM was absolutely thrilled about the event and made the following statement: "The Cadillac Lyriq sets the standard for the future of Cadillac and marks another major milestone in GM's commitment to an all-electric future."

Apparently, the new model is going to be fairly popular among costumers, that was clear when the whole Lyriq Debut Edition sold out within minutes of its official launch, future buyer will have to wait until may 19th, the date on which the non-Debut Edition will hit the market.

Luxury brands have always promoted smooth quite driving for their cars, and EV technology is their best option to actually deliver on this particular aspect. The new Lyriq has an estimated range of 300 miles, 340 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft of torque. Which are all decent numbers, and Cadillac have all the right to be happy about their new car.
