Skoda Skoda To Unveil Fabia, Karoq, And Kodiaq-Sized EVs By 2026, Plus More ICE-Powered Models | Carscoops

Skoda has laid out its plans for the coming years, announcing the launch of three new EVs and two ICEs before 2026.

The Czech brand took the opportunity when revealing the Vision 7S Concept, to announce all the coming models before 2026, revealing a shift in the brand's design identity, becoming more in line with current trends. The two new ICEs will be on sale before 2024, while the three EVs will represent Skoda in the electric market before 2026.

The MEB architecture is the key to Skoda’s electrified future, all three new EVs sit on different versions of the platform. The first model is a new family-friendly seven-seat SUV, based on the Vision 7S, adopting a lot of the concepts’ design features, which represent the new face of Skoda. On the technical aspect, the car offers a decent 370-mile range, powered by an 89 kWh battery.[i]

Next in line is a Karoq-sized compact SUV, and a Fabia-sized small hatchback, we still don’t know much about the small SUV, but  Klaus Zellmer, Skoda CEO didn’t hesitate to describe the future and purpose of the hatchback, the car is supposed to replace the Fabia and take its place in term of price as well, even if that would be a bit tricky considering the batteries’ high price, Skoda hopes that the technology gets cheaper by the time when the car is released in 2025.

The realization of these new plans won’t come from thin air; Skoda is willing to invest $5.6 billion to boost its transition to electric mobility and $700 million more for digitalization. With this huge investment, Skoda hopes that EV sales will make 70 percent of its entire European car sales by 2030.

Of course, the three new EVs won’t be enough to boost sales that much, that's why the company is already working on other models, like the  Enyaq iV and the Enyaq iV Coupe, plus other EVs in the future, possibly with some help from VW, help that would ideally come in the form of the new Scalable Systems Platform (SSP).

Now back to the more traditional ICEs, Skoda has announced that new generations of the  Superb and the Kodiaq will come next year, the Superb was already spotted several times in both wagon and sedan versions, and the car will share the same MQB platform we find under the VW Passat. Concerning the Kodiaq, Skoda is still tight-lipped about any upgrades to the model, but observers expect a stronger push towards electrification.

Other upgrades will appear in other classic Skoda models, like the Octavia the Scala hatchback, and the Kamiq SUV, facelifts are expected to happen before 2024, and they will probably include mild design modifications to keep the cars fresh for an increasingly demanding market.
