Spy shots: 2023 BMW X5 coming back with a new face!
BMW is about to update one of its most successful models, the BMW X5.
The SUV was caught wearing camouflage on the front and rear ends. Although we already know that there won’t be much of a change on the exterior as the brand has already announced that much of the modifications will happen inside the car.[i]
The most noticeable features of the new X5 are the slimmer headlight sitting above a redesigned bumper. We can also see that BMW has tweaked the central intake opening along with the vertical air curtains. What we can’t see yet is the covered grill, although we don’t expect much of a change there.
On the rear end, BMW has done even less work, with only a simple update to the taillight.
Not much is happening under the hood either, the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 currently living there won’t be disturbed, and will continue to push the car forward, producing 617 horsepower (460 kilowatts).
However, we could expect some minor changes to some other parts in the powertrain, but we should wait for the official reveal to discover that.
The interior of the X5 is the main course in this story, BMW made sure to bring up the veteran SUV to the same technological level as all its new models, the BMW X5 will be equipped with the latest infotainment system, iDrive 8, and the large dash-mounted dual-screen display.
The launch date is still anybody’s guess. Supply chain issues are still a major headache for all carmakers, and the new X5 is one of the victims; rumors speculated earlier this year that it was scheduled to break cover last month but that was not materialized. Now we can only hope to see it on full display before the end of the year.
