Chevrolet has released two new design prototypes for the upcoming Silverado HD (High Duty) truck. In these photos, we get to see both a lower-end model and an upper-end model; the former with a hitch and the latter with a gooseneck.
The 24 Silverado HD is a re-imagined workhorse. It's still the truck you've always known and loved, but with a new look and some serious upgrades under the hood.
The automaker gave the exterior a stylish refresh to make you want to drive it. Inside, they’ve added a 13.4-inch infotainment screen to keep you connected while you're on the road, or wherever your adventures may take you. Plus, more power and torque than ever before have been delivered, so you can haul more and go farther between fill-ups.

GM has made it clear that towing capacity is a major focus of the updated Silverado. When compared to Ford and Ram, the Silverado recently placed third in terms of maximum trailering ratings.
This is going to be a huge year for the Chevy Silverado HD. A new 6.6L Duramax V8 turbo-diesel engine will deliver 500 hp and a whopping 1,000 lb.-ft. of torque. That's 55 more horsepower and 90 additional pounds of torque over the existing engine!
After all, we don't know everything about the HD Silverado quite yet, but at least we're getting closer to a release date that will allow us to get behind the wheel and check out the ride for ourselves.
