After 10 years2023 dodge charger super bee details

After 10 years in production, the Dodge Charger is getting a proper send-off, with the launch of a special edition Super Bee model.

All good things must come to an end, and the ten-year production run of the current generation Dodge Charger is no exception. But Dodge won’t let it die quietly; the muscle car company is planning a special edition 2023 Charger Super Bee as a last hurrah for the iconic model. The current generation charger will then be replaced by a new electric model based on the Charger Daytona SRT concept.

The “super bee” name is not exactly new, it appeared for the first time in 1968 as the name of a special edition Coronet coupe. The name came back after that, once on a charger in 1971 and then again on a Charger SRT-8 in 2007. The last time we’ve seen the super bee name was in 2012 as a 392-horse power variant of the current generation Charger.

This year’s super bee will be based on the Scat Pack in an attempt to combine daily driving with drag-racing performance. To do that the super bee will be using adaptive dampers with a special “Drag Mode,” and will roll on drag radial tires.

Dodge says that the car will have two variants, with production volume split evenly between them, the first variant will be a wide body design and it will have 18-inch wheels wrapped in 315-width tires; the other one is a standard narrow-body, riding on 20-inch wheels covered in 275-width tires.

To further emphasize the performance aspect of the vehicle, Dodge will equip it with red-painted four-piston Brembo brakes, an SRT hood with a functional scoop and dual heat extractors, and black SRT exhaust tips.

What makes the super bee distinguishable is the unique paint job, featuring stylized graphics on the hood and a stripe on the rear fender. Other design features include Super Bee badges on the grille and front fenders, black Mopar hood pin kit, and Super Bee logos all over the seats and instrument panel.

The super bee production run will be limited to 1000 units, split evenly between the wide body and narrow body variants. The wide-body chargers will come in Plum Crazy with white graphics, while the standard body ones will be painted in B5 Blue with blue graphics.

No price is disclosed yet, maybe more information will be revealed as we approach the awaited order opening date this fall.

It’s worth noting that the Dodge is planning more special edition models to say farewell to the beloved Charger, the super bee was the second after the Challenger Shakedown, with five more coming soon
