Straight out of the video game, Mclaren launches the Solus GT, a faithful real-world depiction of the Gran Turismo track-only hypercar.

Mclaren has released some insane numbers about the Solus GT. The car runs on a 5.2 liter V-10 that revs to 10,000 rpm and nearly 830 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Weighing 2205 lbs, the Solus can produce  2645 lbs of downforce.

If you want one, it’s already too late! The sports car company will only make 25 specimens and all are already sold for a multimillion price tag to whoever wants to get the privilege of driving one.

Now the next goal is to try and get the one-seat car to the 60 mph mark in less than 2.5 seconds, a very plausible feat considering the car’s power.

What makes McLaren Solus GT even more special is that it’s directly derived from the virtual world, the model was designed initially for the video game Gran Turismo Sport, and those familiar with the game would know how it feels to drive it there. Now someone had the crazy idea to bring it to life!

Contrary to the usual 3.8 or 4.0 liter turbocharged V-8, traditionally used in most Mclaren cars, the carmakers decided to go all in with The Solus GT, equipping it with a new 5.2 liter V-10. This new engine has no belts and no chains, all the action is happening through metal gears. The power is transmitted to a seven-speed sequential gearbox with straight-cut gears and a carbon fiber clutch. Mclaren boasts that both engine and gearbox are motorsport-derived, originally intended for LMP race cars.

The all-powerful V-10 will have an easy time pushing the car around, thanks to the lightweight carbon monocoque and 3D-printed titanium components. To complete the job, McLaren included some Formula one-specific body work, like the carbon crash structures.

Aerodynamics is a big part of any hypercar and Mclaren took great care to include all that can be included, like the sidepods with radiators in them and shrouds to work the air around the double-wishbone suspension,  ground effect tunnels, and a huge splitter up front and a massive rear diffuser.

Even with all the very precise technical work, there’s still room for some customization, the lucky owners can get a specially designed cockpit and seat, adjustable pedals, and even acustom-made helmet.

Most control buttons are right on the steering wheel, a great safety detail that helps keep the driver's eyes on the road while having all the necessary controls placed conveniently between his hands. One cannot simply go fidgeting around while driving at 200 mph.

All that power, all that class, but still… There's no hiding from the weather; UV rays and strong storms are what your car fears the most. Constant exposure to the elements can be extremely harmful to your car, slowly degrading its condition and significantly reducing its resale value.

To avoid all that, all you need to do is get a set of Coverking custom-made car covers. Coverking is a leading car care products company, offering you specially made covers for all major components of your car.

Now with Coverking, you can rest assured that your beloved ride will retain its factory-like looks for many years to come.
