The EV fever is spreading! and Nissan is the next victim, the auto-manufacturer has just made an interesting   announcement about a new EV plant and two brand new EV models.

That has made the announcement really interesting, as the usual factory upgrade news are rather dull, now with the cars’ teaser videos there is something much more exciting to catch the eye of car lovers.

Nissan is proceeding into the EV age in a methodical, educated manner. Providing the adequate production infrastructure in crucial to gain a stable, strong footing in the new EV world.

The factory in question is the Canton, Mississippi plant, it has been around for 19 years now and models like Altima, Frontier Titan and Titan XD had been rolling off its production lines for years, and now with the new Nissan investment plans, the colossal sum of 500$ million will be allocated to turn it into a model electric vehicles producer, the plan includes retooling it to handle the special equipment as well as retraining the work force in the new production requirements.

Now to the exciting part, Nissan announced two new models in a teaser video, one of them is a Nissan, the other is an infinity, both cars have many design similarities, they are both sleek and futuristic and they both have much of a sedan looks to them, and that makes sense as they will be both produced the same factory

However, the infiniti has some more radical design features, details like the front lighting treatment are intricate, with a full width array of light elements that almost invoke a grille in the middle, and another full-length lamp in the back.

Nissan signals by that that it’s taking the traditional 3- box design into the EV era, with a few adjustments of course, details like a smaller third box will have great advantages concerning the vehicles power efficiency and range, as it reduces the wight and eliminates the need for lager batteries.

This automaker company has much promised for the coming years, 15 all new EV models will be on the market by 2030, an ambitious program. Aptly named “ambition”. Nissan fans will undoubtedly be waiting for Nissan to deliver on this huge promise.
