The first fully-electric sedan from Volkswagen will go on sale in 2023.
Volkswagen has surprised the car industry with its new electric car. The German brand unveiled the ID. AERO concept, which is Volkswagen’s most futuristic model yet.
VW's electric sedan will be available in China in 2023, but an exact date has not yet been announced. As we wrap up the 2022 calendar, Volkswagen is also planning to start production of a European series version in Emden in 2023.
It is unclear how many models Volkswagen plans to offer in its first European series model, but it is expected that there will be more than one version made available at launch.
“With the ID. AERO show car, we are revealing a preview of the next member of the ID. family. A car with an emotional and at the same time extremely aerodynamic design, a range of over 600 kilometers, an extraordinary amount of space, and a premium interior,”. “With our ACCELERATE strategy, we are intensively driving forward the electrification of our model range. Following the ID.4, this model will be our next global car for Europe, China, and the U.S.” Ralf Brandstätter, President and CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, stated.
Volkswagen has confirmed the production version of its ID. AERO electric sports car will have a range of up to 620 kilometers, featuring a lithium-ion battery with a net energy content of 77 kWh.
