Who knew the 1970 plymouth cuda would look so good with a 911 targa roof
Abimelec Design modified an iconic 1970 Plymouth Barracuda using a modern Porsche 911 Targa roof.
Playing with iconic American muscle cars is a dangerous business, the results are either superb or hideous, nothing in between. Creative designer Abimelec and his team took up the challenge of creating something new out of the legendary 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, and as far as the final renderings are concerned, the result is spectacular.
Basically, the job consisted of grafting a modern-day Porsche 911 Targa-style roof on a convertible Barracuda. The written description may sound odd, but Abimelec believed in the concept and put it to the test, and the pictures will make you wish that someday the design would be turned into reality.
The roof is composed of the iconic Targa silver roll hoop, holding the curved rear glass canopy in place. The style was then replicated at the front, with silver windshield surround and pillars.

Other subtle details were added to give the car a more modern sporty style. The designer opted for a lowered ride height, wider steel wheels, a custom steering wheel, and a monstrous 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8.
The interior, however, was given a warmer tone using a combination of tan vintage-style leather and black dashboard and door panels.
